A Successful Kickstarter Campaign!

Thanks to 61 generous backers, our free concert at the Chicago High School for the Fine Arts was fully funded on Kickstarter. We wrapped up our campaign after raising over 115% of our targeted goal. We are so grateful to our backers for helping make this a reality.

Our goal for a Free Chicago Public School Concert has been met!

We were excited to learn that Kickstarter identified our campaign as one that stands out and made it a 'Project We Love"!  Kickstarter describes Projects We Love as “an evolution of Staff Picks, a feature we used in the past to connect creators and backers around best-in-class projects. The difference is that Projects We Love automatically get a nice little badge so that everyone can tell when we’re extra excited about a project. Projects We Love are featured by a team that works to surface extra-bright projects. They're not paid endorsements, and like any other project, they retain complete creative independence. Most simply, a Project We Love badge is a show of respect and enthusiasm from us at Kickstarter.”

We raised $530 over our target goal. This amount will help us defray part of our expenses for a second outreach concert at a CPS school in 2020!!

This Kickstarter campaign was created to raise $3,500 to bring a free concert and band clinic to the Chicago High School for Arts (ChiArts) on November 19, 2019. These funds will cover our expenses for performing this concert and cover the cost of an NCB-sponsored clinic for a ChiArts band.

What makes this event extra special is that students will be exposed to symphonic band music performed at the highest level, which will undoubtedly motivate and inspire students to explore their musical passions. Also, some of the student musicians from ChiArts will have the opportunity to perform with us at the free concert, and students from over a dozen other Chicago Public Schools will be invited to attend this free event.  It is our hope that the diverse ages, backgrounds, and professions of our membership will show students that anyone can be a "musician for life."

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to our generous supporters! Together we can bring music into schools and show students they can be musicians for life!
