McGrath Family Performing Arts Center

About the Venue

Housed within Loyola Academy’s McGrath Family Performing Arts Center, the Leemputte Family Theater is a 567-seat proscenium theater complete with state-of-the-art production technologies. Eco-friendly construction meets modern design at the McGrath Family Performing Arts Center. The total carbon impact of building materials is the equivalent to converting the 20-acre Loyola Academy campus into an old-growth oak forest for 30 years. Furthermore, high efficiency building systems have been installed in anticipation of running exclusively on solar power in the future.

Directions

The Leemputte Family Theater is located at the southeast corner of Illinois Road and Laramie Avenue at the north end of the Loyola Academy campus. When searching for driving directions, enter Loyola Academy McGrath Family Performing Arts Center: 3424 Illinois Road, Wilmette, IL 60091.

Driving Directions

From the north — Take Interstate 94 East (Edens Expressway) to exit 34A and merge onto US-41 South / Skokie Boulevard. Turn right onto Lake Avenue, followed by another right onto Laramie Avenue. When Laramie Avenue ends, turn right onto Illinois Road.

From the south — Take Interstate 94 West (Edens Expressway) to exit 34B. Merge onto Lake Avenue, then take the first right onto Laramie Avenue. When Laramie Avenue ends, turn right onto Illinois Road.

From Pick-Staiger Concert Hall — Head southwest on Arts Circle Drive and turn left onto Campus Drive. At the stop sign, turn right onto Sheridan Road and follow signs to continue on Sheridan Road. Pass the Bahá'í House of Worship, and make a left onto Lake Avenue. About 4 miles down the road, make a right onto Laramie Avenue, followed by another right onto Illinois Road.

Public Transportation

While Loyola Academy is conveniently located near several Pace Bus stops, these stops do not offer weekend service. We recommend exploring alternate options to public transportation when attending our concerts at the Leemputte Family Theater.

Parking

Complimentary parking is available across the Loyola Academy campus. The Leemputte Family Theater is located at the north end of the campus along Illinois Road. We recommend entering the campus from the Illinois Road entrance or northern Laramie Avenue entrance to find parking near the concert hall. Accessible parking is available in the lot adjacent to the theater entrance.

School buses and other oversized vehicles may park along the east side of the Leemputte Family Theater. Overflow parking is available on the south end of the Loyola Academy campus, near the tennis courts and football stadium.

Wayfinding

Upon entering the spacious foyer of the McGrath Family Performing Arts Center, you may proceed to the ticket table or to your designated seating area. Access to main floor seats is located on the north and south sides of the ticket window. Access to balcony seats is via the staircase along the north side of the foyer or the staircase on the south wall of the theater.

Restrooms are located behind the Leemputte Family Theater. From the foyer, proceed along the southern gallery wall to access the restrooms. Spacious women’s and men’s restrooms can be found here, as well as two single-occupant restrooms.

Accessibility

Northshore Concert Band welcomes all individuals to our concerts and provides a variety of accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Accessible seating is available on the main floor of the Leemputte Family Theater. A limited number of accessible parking spaces are available adjacent to the theater entrance on a first-come, first-served basis. All restrooms are accessible.
