NCB member Lauren Whisnant (Horn) has been the Northshore Concert Band’s Business and Operations Manager for the last 10 years. Lauren has been invaluable in this role, and we want to thank her for her dedicated service to the Band. Lauren has decided to step down from this position and we are pleased to announce that David Roush has accepted the position of Business and Operations Manager for NCB.

David Roush is entering the third year of his doctoral degree program at Northwestern University where he is studying wind conducting as a student of Dr. Thompson.

Prior to pursuing his graduate studies, David was a band director in the public schools of rural central Illinois, serving from 2013-2019 as Director of Bands for the North Clay and Neoga School Districts in Louisville, Illinois, and Neoga, Illinois respectively. In this capacity, David taught band for grades 4-12 as well as middle and high school music history/appreciation and theory. David holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master's degree in Wind Conducting from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. In addition to his work with Dr. Thompson, David has also studied conducting with Dr. Emily Threinen and Dr. Linda Moorhouse.

David has thoroughly enjoyed his experiences with the Northshore Concert Band over the last two years and is very excited to be joining the organization officially as he finishes his degree at Northwestern.
