Special Announcement about our 2020-2021 Season: A Letter from Mallory Thompson

Dear Northshore Concert Band subscribers, supporters, and friends,

It is with great disappointment that I must inform you that we have made the difficult decision not to proceed with our traditional programming for the 2020-2021 season. Forgoing these performances will be disappointing to our loyal patrons and friends, musicians, board of directors, and staff, but this decision represents the safest and most prudent plan to ensure the well-being of our entire community.

We are working very hard to determine how the Northshore Concert Band can safely return to making music together. Through the dedication and hard work of many NCB members, we are dealing with the puzzle pieces that include finding a safe venue and gathering protocols and procedures that follow all recommended health guidelines.

We promise to be there for you as soon as circumstances allow and ask that you join us on a journey of hope!

On August 26, 2020 members of NCB gathered for our first social-distanced rehearsal at the Ed Rudolph Velodrome in Northbrook, Illinois. Our weekly rehearsals will continue at The Grove National Historic Landmark in Glenview, Illinois.

Over the next few months, we will be sharing behind-the-scenes accounts of our return to live music. Delivered to your inbox, we know that you will find these chronicles fascinating and inspirational!

We extend our deepest gratitude for the dedication and support of each and every member of the Northshore Concert Band family. In this time of uncertainty, one thing remains constant: music inspires us, strengthens us, and brings us together.

May we ask for your support? In the absence of season subscriptions and ticket sales please consider a donation to Northshore Concert Band to help sustain us during these difficult times. Online donations can be made here. Just as you continue to be there for us we promise to be there for you.

Stay tuned, we will keep you updated, and we will keep practicing so we are ready for you!

Our sincere wishes for your health and wellness,

Mallory Thompson
