Auditions
Northshore Concert Band is always interested in identifying
talented adult musicians from the Chicago metropolitan area. The band typically
fills five to ten openings each year, and we currently have openings for trumpet and trombone. Others may apply to be placed on our waiting list. New members
are chosen based on their musical ability, but also on their readiness to
faithfully commit to the band's schedule of concerts and rehearsals. We
also expect all members to volunteer some time to the band's administrative
activities. If you are interested in becoming a member, you should email
us your name, address, phone numbers, instrument played,
educational background, and general info about your performance experience.
Please contact Debbie
Durham, personnel manager, at 847-566-8227 to set up an audition. You
must be at least 18 years of age to join NCB.
Our season generally runs from the first Wednesday after
Labor Day through the end of July. We rehearse each Wednesday
evening from 7:30 until 9:30 PM at Glenbrook South High School
in Glenview. We generally
play a total of 10-12 concerts each season. Our 2005-2006
subscription concert series consists of three concerts at
Pick-Staiger Concert Hall on the campus
of Northwestern University and one concert at North Shore
Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie. We also play several
run-out concerts throughout
the year, including a performance at the Midwest Clinic
in December 2005, and a full schedule of concerts
during June and July.
Please fill out the form below, and we will contact you shortly!
